Cardiac screening programme
Cardiac screening can uncover cardiac issues at an early stage when they are more manageable. A cardiac screening programme will be conducted with the Consultant Cardiologist, Department of Clinical Sciences. This programme will be conducted every 4th Wednesday from 9.00 am to 12 noon for a minimum of 20 people as a group. Government and private sector work places are invited to send their employees for a comprehensive cardiac screening. This service is also opens for the residents in the faculty community project area (Kokkuvil, Thiraimadu, Sinna Urani, Saththurukondan, Pannichchayadi, Palameenmadu and Thiruppenthurei Grama Niladari divisions).
They can use the service via organizing a programme for their Grama Niladari division via the relevant Grama Niladari of the division or via a Community-based Civil Society. Interesting participants are expected to contact the Holistic Care Center for book an appointment.

Registration
Once a participant visits, he/she will be registered to the HCC using both electronic and paper-based registration systems and a patient record sheet will be issued.

Risk assessment
Participant’s basic health parameters such as anthropometric, blood pressure and fasting blood sugar/random blood sugar will be measured. A detailed history will be taken on the lifestyle and other risk factors.

Waiting time
Patient can expose to different health education and behaviour change communication messages at the lobby of the HCC, and have the opportunity to discuss and solve any health-related queries while he/she is waiting for his/her time for the consultation. Leaflets on different health topics will be issued.

Primary consultation
Primary consultation will be conducted in a patient-focused way ensuring a good patient-doctor relationships based on family medicine principles.

Consultation by the Cardiologist
Dr. Rajeevan Francis, will provide invaluable insights, consultations, and guidance to each individual, ensuring a personalized approach to heart health.

Health promotion
Participants will be directed to a customized health promotion session which address modifiable risk factors of cardiovascular diseases based on the principles of the health promotion approach. This session will aim to empower participants to ensure a healthy heart through lifestyle modifications in their daily lives.

Follow-up
A date for the follow up will be issued based on the identified requirements.
