Mr. Sathasivam Shanmukanathan

Mr.Sathasivam Shanmukanathan, a lecturer attached to the Faculty of Health Care Sciences, EUSL. He has completed a Diploma in Nursing in 1993 and joined the ministry of health, SriLanka as a Nursing officer at Teaching Hospital Batticaloa in SriLanka.

After completion of Post Basic Diploma in Nursing (Ward Management and Supervision) including Mental health and psychiatric Nursing at EUSL in 2003 he was Promoted as Acting Matron at General Hospital Vavuniya in SriLanka in 2005.

He extended his service to the Ministry of Health in Oman as a Staff Development Coordinator in 2006. He returned to SriLanka in 2007

In 2008 he has successfully completed the Post Basic Diploma in Nursing (Teaching and Supervision) at National Institute of Nursing Education, Colombo in Sri Lanka and joined at the ministry of health, SriLanka as a Nursing tutor in College of Nursing Vavuniya and College of Nursing Batticaloa in SriLanka

In 2009, he has successfully completed the BSc Nursing Degree Programme at Open University, Nawala, and Colombo in Sri Lanka.

He joined at Eastern University as a lecturer (Prob) in department of supplementary health sciences, faculty of health care sciences in 2013.

Conducting lectures on following subjects

• Fundamental Nursing 1
• Fundamental Nursing II
• Psychiatric In Nursing
• Ward Management

And conducting the demonstration of Nursing procedure to all batches of Nursing Students
