Biography

Dr Lokeesan is a senior lecturer in Nursing in the Department of Supplementary Health Sciences, Faculty of Health-Care Sciences, Eastern University, Sri Lanka. He is a registered nurse under Sri Lanka nursing council (Reg No: 08614). He obtained PhD at the School of Nursing, Faculty of Health, Queensland University of Technology, Australia in 2023. He was awarded a QUT/AHEAD Scholarship in 2019 to complete his PhD which is titled “Effectiveness of the Champions for Skin Integrity model for facilitating uptake of evidence-based diabetic foot ulcer care among healthcare professionals in Sri Lanka”.Lokeesan graduated in 2013 with Bachelor Science Honours in Nursing from Eastern University Sri Lanka and completed a six-month internship program at the National hospital Kandy. He served as a  temporary demonstrator and assistant lecturer in the department of Supplementary Health Sciences and had more than eight years of experience in learning and teaching undergraduate nursing students.In 2020 Lokeesan was awarded a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) through the Queensland University of Technology Academy of Learning and Teaching.
